Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement (QCF)

A new suite of qualifications has been developed to support the new Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) and which replace the A1 Assessor award and related qualifications (A2 vocational assessor course). If you already have A and/or V units you won’t need to re-qualify.

They have been developed for those working in accredited learning, non-accredited learning, the NQF and the QCF. The qualifications consist of a mix of units – some competence-based and some knowledge based units.

Two level 3 Awards and a level 3 Certificate have been developed for assessors. Each has one or more units in common. Unit 1 is a knowledge based and Units 2 & 3 are competence based. Additional units confirming competence can be taken at the same time as, or after, achieving the knowledge unit. All three qualifications will be externally verified by OCR.

This qualification is intended for those who assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the work environment (for example a workshop, classroom or other training environment) – (Assessing Non-Competence / Non-NVQ Qualifications)
